Measurement Overview

You can create measurements on the object and attach related information to each one. To make a measurement, select the corresponding measure Measure tool by selecting it from the tool panel, or by pressing the corresponding keybind (M). Then, left-click on the object in two separate locations that you want to measure the distance from and the measurement will be generated automatically.

After creating a measurement, you can view the corresponding attributes in the measure Measurements panel. Similar to layers, you edit the visibility, name and description, as well as delete measurements and view the exact distance measured.

Modes

Measurements fall under 2 distinct categories:

  • Euclidean: Straight line between two points.
  • Geodesic: Moves around the geometry.

Note: Some models don't respond well to the geodesic measure due to mesh limitations. In incompatible cases, a popup will appear informing that no geodesic path has been found.
